Surprise Body And Soul, Mike Richmond and Jerry Bergonzi

In 1993, Mike Richmond releases his New Blues Album. An All star cast, featuring Kenny Werner, Bruce Forman, Adam Nussbaum and Jerry Bergonzi, play a mix of standards and originals.

The album is deeply energetic and the playing is exciting.

Particularly intresting, I thought, is the band's rendition of Body And Soul. This old chestnut has been revived over and over again, taking the beautiful melody and harmony to

new heights.

It inspired me for this post-Bill-Evans style. And I hope you like it. The style can be found in the shop: Modal pack 1.
